Players take on the role of Rook, a customizable protagonist who rises up to become a hero of Thedas. The game also sports a supporting cast of companion characters, including Bellara, Davrin, Emmrich, Harding, Lucanis, Neve, and Taash, each of whom has their own special combat abilities and equipment.
